Tires are such a small part of what makes our vehicles operate correctly, but they’re a very important part. Failure to maintain your tires can result in uneven wear, poor gas mileage and even flat tires or blowouts on the road. To ensure you’re getting the best wear out of your tires, follow these tire care tips.

Always make sure your tires have the correct amount of air pressure. The correct amount is not the amount listed on the tire but the amount listed in your vehicle’s manual or on the side of your door. The amount that’s listed on the tire is the maximum amount that tire should have not the amount that’s recommended for your vehicle.

Extreme weather conditions can affect the air pressure so special attention should be given after winter and summer months. Make it a habit to inspect your tires regularly for an uneven wear. The tires should be rotated every 6,000 miles, and the vehicle should have a wheel alignment.
